Yamaha YZF R15 V3 Latest Updates
Yamaha had recently increased the price of the R15 V3 by Rs 600. It now retails at Rs 1,40,880 (ex-showroom Delhi). However, we do expect the price to be hiked once again by around 10-15 per cent for the BS6-compliant model. Official documents of the BS6-compliant model showcasing a drop in power were leaked online recently. The BS6 bike will produce 18.63PS compared to the current model’s 19.3PS. Expect the BS6-compliant model to be launched by the end of this year.
R15 V3 Overview
The Yamaha YZF-R15 Version 3.0 is the sportiest motorcycle in the 150cc category. It is also one of Yamaha’s most successful sports bikes in India. In its third iteration, the R15 comes with a larger 155cc liquid-cooled engine with Variable Valve Timing (VVT) technology. This feature offers an optimal balance between low-end grunt and top-end drive. The low-end performance was something the previous generation bike struggled with. The Version 3.0’s design language is more in line with the new YZF-R1, and the bike features LED headlamps and tail light. The fully-digital instrument cluster also comes with efficiency readout in addition to the regular trove of information. While the bike sold in other markets features an inverted fork up front, the India-spec model makes do with a telescopic unit. At the rear, the motorcycle employs a monoshock. Brakes include 282mm front and 220mm rear disc with standard dual-channel ABS.
