How to get Pixel 4 camera features on other Android smartphone


Google Pixel smartphones have always been touted as one of the best camera smartphones and the recently launched Google Pixel 4 brings additional features to the table. The most highlighted among them is the improved Night Mode and Astrophotography. However, Google has already started rolling out these features to older generation Pixel devices, and that also suggests that most of these features are a part of computational photography than being a hardware dependent.

We already know that Google won’t be launching the new Pixel 4 smartphones in India. So, in case you are looking to use any of Google Pixel 4 feature, the only option available is Pixel 3 or Pixel 3XL.

But what if there's a way you can get Pixel 4 features on your current smartphone. Well, here’s a small workaround that can help you achieve better image quality from your smartphone camera along with the new Pixel 4 features.

Before proceeding with the steps, there are a few things to keep in mind.
First and most important, this is a workaround and is based on the camera port, it may or may not work with all the Android smartphones. Also, for best results, use smartphones running Android 9.0 Pie or later.

1.Search for the latest version of Google Camera port apk (version 7.2 or above)
2.Download the apk file from a trusted source and install it
3.After you’ve successfully installed the app on your smartphone, open the app and allow all the necessary permissions.
4.Now, choose the mode and start clicking the picture

How to enable Astrophotography feature

1.Open Google Camera app and head to ‘Setting’
2.Scroll down and look for ‘Advance’ option
3.Scroll further down and turn on the toggle in front of the ‘Astrophotography’ option
