Realme TV is all set to become the next product from Oppo spinoff brand Realme, come end of 2019. Much like arch rival Redmi (Xiaomi), Realme is also planning to get into the smart TV segment by the end of this year, hopefully choosing to target the mid-quality, affordable price segment.

According to a report by our friends over at 91mobiles, the Realme TV might be unveiled in December 2019 in India, alongside the Realme X2 Pro smartphone. The report expects the Realme TV to be priced in the affordable segment, however it is currently unclear whether the company will unveil one or multiple variants at launch.

Launched in February 2018 in India, Xiaomi's Mi TV range has been a hit in terms of online sales and has quickly emerged to become the biggest smart TV brand online in India. On the other hand, Realme, launched sometime last year, has been a runaway success in the budget smartphone segment, giving tough competition to Xiaomi.

Realme would love to take the competition to the smart home segment with its affordable range of smart TVs. It would be interesting to see how the competition pans out in this unexplored space in the next couple of years. Along with Xiaomi, several other brands like Motorola and OnePlus have since entered the market to get a slice of the pie.

The 91mobiles report suggests that no features and specifications of the Realme TV are out yet, but we could expect leaks coming our way soon enough. Stay tuned to KillerFeatures for more information on the Realme TV.
